Introduction to Systems Engineering: A Safety and Cybersecurity Perspective
System Engineering Training with a Focus on MBSE Using the SysML Language
Course Duration: 2 Days - 8 Hours/day
Systems are becoming increasingly large and complex with many challenges in its design, development, and implementation. Two examples of such systems are electric vehicles (EVs) and automated vehicles (AVs). Systems engineering (SE) enables the design and successful implementation of large and complex systems such as EVs and AVs.. Perhaps the most stringent set of requirements include safety and cybersecuriy as they have been ranked high in terms of concernsin the acceptance and adoption of EVs and AVs. Thus successful design and development of safe and secure self-driving vehicles stand to benefit from applying systems engineering principles and techniques.
In this 2-day course you will be introduced to systems engineering with emphasis on model based SE (MBSE) using the SysML language. Your knowledge of systems engineering principles will be reinforced by carefully designed exercises, and breakout projects involving EV and AV systems. Daily exercises will provide hands-on experience with practical systems engineering aspects and an opportunity to discuss issues with other participants and the Instructor. The SysML language as implemented in the tool Modelio will be used for some of the exercises and workshops.
